Ingredients for 4 people

  • 250 g plain flour
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • ½ tbsp baking powder
  • 300ml De Nigris Apple Cider Vinegar with Mother
  • 150ml cold water
  • 1 egg
  • 4 fillets of white fish (Cod or haddock)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Salt

In a bowl, combine the flour, salt and baking powder. In a separate bowl, whisk together the Apple Cider Vinegar, cold water and egg, then gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, whisking constantly until a batter forms. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan, or fryer, to 180°C.  Dip each fish fillet into the batter, making sure it is fully coated. Carefully place the fish into the hot oil and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove the fish from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen paper to remove any excess oil. Serve the fish with chips, salt and Apple Cider Vinegar.
